Okehampton Fireworks 2026: Date, Time and Where to Watch

2026-10-01·Updated 23 Oct 2026·Okehampton

Short answer: Okehampton has the Dartmoor Line from Exeter again, which makes a dark November evening here one you can reach without driving moorland roads. Brothers is the best cooking in town.

You can get here by train

Worth knowing on a November evening. The Dartmoor Line runs from Exeter via Crediton, and a second station — Okehampton Interchange, near the A30 — opened on 1 August 2026 with a 200-space car park and step-free access.

The original station has the Dartmoor National Park information centre and a café, so you can arrive early and wait somewhere warm.

The 2026 display

North Tawton Rugby Club — Friday 30 October. North Tawton is the nearest confirmed display to Okehampton and it runs at the end of October rather than on the 5th, which is the single most common mistake made with this one.

Dates and times come from the organisers' own listings and the regional what's-on pages, checked in late October. Small displays are run by volunteers and can move or sell out, so confirm with the organiser before you travel — particularly for anything ticketed.

Where to watch from

What is open

Do not go up on the moor

High Willhays and Yes Tor are the highest ground in southern England and no place to be after dark in November. Parts also sit within the military firing range. Stay in the town for the evening.

Bringing a dog to a display is rarely a good idea — see the guide to Bonfire Night with a nervous dog for what actually helps.
