Short answer: Dogs travel on Seaton Tramway for around £2 each way, downstairs only. Seaton Wetlands is free with level accessible paths and bird hides, and Coast Cafe Bar, the Hideaway and the Malt House all take dogs.
Worth knowing, because it turns a walk into a day out. Seaton Tramway runs three miles up the Axe estuary to Colyton, and dogs travel for around £2 each way, downstairs only. Trams run roughly every twenty minutes and hop-on hop-off day tickets are available.
The Colyton terminus has free parking and a good café, so you can walk one way along the estuary and ride back.
Beach dog rules in Devon change with the season — most restrictions run 1 May to 30 September and lift for the winter. The sign at the entrance is the authority, and neighbouring beaches can differ.
The Old Picture House on Harbour Road is not listed as dog friendly, so plan that one separately.
Beer is five minutes west — the beach and the Hooken undercliff walk both take dogs, and the Anchor Inn's cliff-top garden has the best view in the village. Beer Quarry Caves do not admit dogs.
