Dartmouth Fireworks 2026: Date, Time and Where to Watch

2026-08-15·Updated 23 Oct 2026·Dartmouth

Short answer: The Dart reflects everything launched over it and both banks give height, which makes Dartmouth one of the best towns in Devon for fireworks. Café Alf Resco opens at seven and the Royal Castle sits right on the quay.

A river town, which is the point

Dartmouth sits on a steep-sided river with Kingswear directly opposite. Anything launched over the water is reflected and visible from both banks, and the hillsides give natural tiers of viewpoints. It is one of the best-shaped towns in Devon for watching fireworks.

The 2026 display

Dartington Trust fireworks — Saturday 7 November. Dartmouth has no confirmed display over the river this year, which is a shame given the shape of the place. The two within reach are both up the valley on the Saturday.

Dates and times come from the organisers' own listings and the regional what's-on pages, checked in late October. Small displays are run by volunteers and can move or sell out, so confirm with the organiser before you travel — particularly for anything ticketed.

Where to watch from

Getting across

The ferries to Kingswear are real transport here rather than a summer novelty, but check the last sailing before relying on getting back. In November the timetable is reduced.

What is open

Parking

Park once in town and walk. The roads out to the castle are narrow and unlit, and November does not make them any wider.
