Devon Days Out is a guide to days out across Devon, written town by town. Every town has a page of real places, and behind it a set of guides answering the questions people actually search for — where to park when the car parks are full, which beaches you can reach with a buggy, what is open on Boxing Day, where the fireworks are and what time they start.
The aim is to be specific. Plenty of sites will tell you Devon is beautiful. Fewer will tell you that the Dartmouth castle ferry is about £3.50 and takes twenty minutes, or that a display starts at 6.40pm because somebody checked.
Event dates and times come from organisers' own listings, posters and council pages, checked against the calendar rather than copied from last year. Where something is not confirmed, the page says so instead of guessing. Village displays are run by volunteers and can move, so the advice is always to confirm before travelling.
If you spot something wrong, say so and it gets fixed: hello@devondaysout.uk.
Two ways, and both are visible on the page.
Advertising. Local businesses pay to appear in the advert carousel on the town pages and guides for their area. Adverts are labelled as adverts. Paying for one does not buy a mention in the writing, a better position in a list, or a review — the editorial side is not for sale, and no advertiser sees a page before it goes up.
Booking links. Some pages link to activities through GetYourGuide, who pay a commission if you book. It costs you nothing extra, and those links are marked. Activities are chosen because they fit the page, not because of what they pay.
Free listings exist too. A place appearing on this site has not necessarily paid for anything and usually has not.
There is a sister guide for the next county west: Cornwall Days Out, built the same way.
Rates, towns and the booking form are on the advertise page. Questions: hello@devondaysout.uk.
