Dogs at Woodlands Theme Park: No — Where to Walk Instead

2026-04-06·Devon

Short answer: No. Woodlands Family Theme Park near Totnes does not admit dogs. It is twenty minutes from Dartmouth and the south Devon coast, where the dog-friendly eating is the best in the county.

The short answer

No. Woodlands is a family theme park with large indoor play areas and animal attractions, and dogs are not admitted. Assistance dogs are worth asking about directly.

Where the dog goes instead

You are twenty minutes from Dartmouth, which is one of the most dog-friendly towns in Devon, and from the Start Bay coast.

Dartmouth does dogs properly

Café Alf Resco opens at seven with a covered courtyard and is famously dog friendly. Dudley's on Lower Street welcomes dogs alongside one of the best gluten-free menus on this coast — closed Wednesdays. The Sail Loft on Foss Street is the roomiest place in town and takes dogs. The Floating Bridge is riverside and dog friendly.

And the Rare Breeds Farm

Worth knowing about as an alternative attraction rather than a dog venue — Totnes Rare Breeds Farm is reached through the steam railway station, is wheelchair accessible throughout, and you can feed most of the animals for a pound a bag. Like Woodlands, it is an animal attraction, so ring about dogs before assuming.

One practical note from visitors: the station car park is around £7.50, and there is free parking on the nearby industrial estate.

Dog policies change, and the consequence of getting it wrong is being turned away at the gate. This was checked in September 2026 — ring ahead if you are driving any distance.
