Short answer: Teignmouth has two waterfronts: the exposed seafront and the sheltered Back Beach on the estuary. If the wind is up, the Back Beach is the one — and Ye Olde Jolly Sailor is open until half eleven.
This is what makes Teignmouth work in November. When the seafront is being blasted by an easterly, the Back Beach round on the estuary side is comparatively calm — working boats on the sand, the docks alongside, old pubs a few steps away and a large car park that is cheaper than the front.
Teignmouth Rugby Football Club fireworks — Thursday 5 November. Teignmouth's display is on Bonfire Night itself and it is at the rugby club. People head for the Den and the sea wall expecting it over the water, which is the wrong end of town.
Dates and times come from the organisers' own listings and the regional what's-on pages, checked in late October. Small displays are run by volunteers and can move or sell out, so confirm with the organiser before you travel — particularly for anything ticketed.

Seafront parking is around £4.60 for two hours; the Back Beach car park is cheaper and bigger. On a night when the front is busy, that is the one to aim for.
Much of it is fenced off, so do not build a plan around standing on it.
