Paignton Fireworks 2026: Date, Time and Where to Watch

2026-08-17·Updated 23 Oct 2026·Paignton

Short answer: Paignton is the easiest Torbay town on a dark November night: flat, with a level promenade, a mainline station a short walk from the front, and a pier that is free to walk onto.

Flat, which matters in the dark

Torquay is built on hills and Brixham is squeezed into a harbour. Paignton is flat, with a level promenade running the length of the seafront — which on a cold dark evening with children is the practical advantage.

The 2026 display

Bay of Lights opening fireworks — Saturday 28 November. Paignton itself has no Bonfire Night display, but the bay has three things worth planning around, and the free one at the end of November is the biggest.

Dates and times come from the organisers' own listings and the regional what's-on pages, checked in late October. Small displays are run by volunteers and can move or sell out, so confirm with the organiser before you travel — particularly for anything ticketed.

Where to watch from

What is open

Arrive by train

Paignton has a mainline station a short, level walk from the seafront. On a night when the seafront roads are busy, that is the sensible way in — and it removes the parking question entirely.

Bringing a dog is rarely a good idea on a display night — see the guide to Bonfire Night with a nervous dog for what actually helps.
