Short answer: The Duck Dive is the best rated in the village, open 8.30am to late and dog friendly. The Williams Arms does a carvery every day — check the times. The Beachside Grill is at Saunton Sands and takes dogs. The White Lion opens at 1pm with Indian and tapas nights.
Best rated in Braunton, dog friendly, and open from 8.30am right through to late. That span is the useful thing — it covers breakfast before a beach day and a drink after one, which few places in a village this size manage.
A carvery every day, and dog friendly. It is the substantial meal in the area and the best value for what you get. The caveat is timing: the carvery does not run all day, so check before you drive out.
Right next to Saunton Sands, dog friendly, and positioned so you can walk off the beach into it. Book at busy times — this is the obvious place for everyone on that sand to end up, and in season they all do.
Live music and open mic nights, with an Indian kitchen and tapas evenings. It opens at 1pm most days, so it is an afternoon and evening place rather than a lunch one. The variety is unusual for a north Devon village.
Saunton is three miles of firm flat beach with dogs allowed all year, and the car park takes contactless. On a clear evening, food from the village eaten on that beach beats any table — and it is the cheapest meal here by some distance.
