Sunday 8 November 2026, 11am, at the Royal Navy Memorial on Plymouth Hoe. The two-minute silence opens it, and the service itself runs about twenty minutes.
The Bishop of Exeter leads it. Wreaths are laid by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Devon, the Lord Mayor, the Naval Base Commander and representatives of the armed forces, then by the Military Kids Club Heroes and local school pupils. Crews from visiting ships lay wreaths too.
Once the civic party has left, the public can lay personal wreaths on the north side of the memorial.
The procession moves to the Civilian Memorial on Lockyer Street, where there is a prayer, a reading and more wreaths. More than a thousand Plymouth civilians were killed in the Blitz of 1941, and the civilian memorial is central to the day here rather than an addition to it.
