Family Pubs in Westward Ho! With Space for Kids

2026-06-03·Westward Ho

Short answer: The Guillemot Bar at Latitude 51 is spacious with a garden and beach views, very good access, and enormous portions at fair prices. The Pier House has window tables over the sea. The beach and the front playground are the play area.

A word on expectations. Devon pubs rarely have playgrounds — old buildings, small sites. What most have is a garden, a beach or a park nearby. Where a pub genuinely has a play area, it says so below.

The Guillemot Bar

A spacious bar, garden and restaurant at Latitude 51 with beach views and very good wheelchair and mobility-scooter access — which also means plenty of room for a buggy. Enormous portions at fair prices; order the smaller plates for children.

The Pier House

A big glass-fronted restaurant above the bay with window tables looking straight out to sea, doing a carvery alongside a full menu with gluten-free options. Book, and confirm your booking.

Nomad Larder

At the Pig on the Hill, walkable up from the beach, with a good Sunday roast. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Where the play actually is

Book if you are more than four, and always for Sunday lunch.
