Short answer: The Jube takes dogs inside and is the best-rated pub in the village. Drift Coffee House and Meraki are both explicitly dog friendly. Up in Mortehoe, Town Farmhouse, the Chichester Arms and the Ship Aground all welcome dogs. The beach has zoned rules rather than a blanket ban.
This is the useful bit. Woolacombe does not simply shut dogs out in summer — the three miles of sand are signed by zone, with no-dog, on-lead and off-lead sections marked separately, and the stream near the village acting as the dividing line. Read the signs on arrival and you can have a beach day with a dog here all year.
The Jube, the Jubilee Inn set back off the front on South Street, is the best-rated pub in Woolacombe and takes dogs inside. Family-run, big portions, and enough indoor and outdoor seating to absorb a wet afternoon.
Drift Coffee House and Kitchen on Barton Road is explicitly dog friendly and roomy — it is the highest-rated place to eat in the village and does breakfast and brunch properly. Meraki Coffee Co. is dog friendly too, opens at eight and has a serving hatch if you would rather order without coming in at all.
The Captains Table does long hours and welcomes dogs, which makes it the fallback when other kitchens have closed. The Barn above the beach and Captain Jacks both take dogs, and Captain Jacks is one of the few places open through the winter.
Up on the headland a mile north, Town Farmhouse does the cream teas and takes dogs, and it is the natural end point of the Morte Point walk. The Chichester Arms and the Ship Aground, opposite each other in the village, both welcome dogs — the Ship Aground makes a fuss of them, though it closes Mondays for much of the year.
The Tides Inn on Beach Road has a sea-facing deck and is dog friendly, but closes some days out of season. Ring ahead in winter rather than walking up hopefully.
